Amazing tourist locations like magic island were next to the hotel. Downtown Honolulu district deserves your attention.
Great view - 23rd floor - quiet and in the main tower.
Dirty, stained carpet. Bathtub did not drain - so the water backed up in the tub. The maid did not wash out the tub daily - there was still hair and soap scum in it (due to the water being backed-up).
As a business traveler the location is key for me.
The first towels were not very clean
We liked the proximity to a big shopping mall. We liked the closeness to Waikiki shopping and beach.
The room was very small. THe hide a bed mattress was awful. We got a filthy towel as a clean towel one day. There was someones stinky hat left in the room when we arrived. We were supposed to have a safe in the room as well as an extra blanket, neither of which we had.. They did bring and extra blanket when asked.
Room felt stale and the bathroom smelled of urine. Bedding was old and frumpy.
Difficulty in getting in touch with association manager
The weather during our stay in Hawaii was overcast, raining and windy. Having direct access to the Ala Moana shopping centre was a plus with over 290 shops and a large food court we had plenty to do on days when you could not get out touring.
When we booked this hotel, it was off pictures on the internet, king room with a mountain view. When we arrived at the hotel we were allocated a room on the 6th floor. This room was a twin room that had not been cleaned properly, walls had dirty marks and the room had a odour like wet carpet. The view out of room was of three concrete walls over looking a car park, nothing like the what we envisaged from the internet. After lodging a complaint with Luxury Suites International we were moved to a room on the 23rd floor which had a king bed and a view of the mountains. The hotel on arrival advised that if any problems with the room exist theyare not responsible, as the are privately owned. Lsi have there own contract cleaners. We elected to service the room our selves as we did'nt like out side people in our room.I Would not recommend a stay at this hotel under these circumstances. To lsi credit they moved use from the the 6th floor to the 23rd floor with out any hesitation.
Good deal at $99/nite, and very convenient to the convention center which is what we wanted.
This was a condo within the Ala Moana hotel. So some of the amenities that the hotel would have you do not have... Ie... Ironing board & iron, timely cleaning service, cable tv with Movie purchase options. We valet parked for the 5 days at 20/night. We were supposed to have a mountain view, and I could sneak a peak over a lot of buildings, but this is a downtown hotel with views of other hotels, even on our 13th floor.
The Ala Moana is one block from the Convention Center, making it convenient for a meeting.
There are major highways and intersections between the hotel and the beach. There are not many good restaurants nearby. Waikidi is not far but surprisingly difficult to get to due to intervening highways, hotel complexes, and a canal.
location to Ala Moana shopping center and convention center
stayed in private room - hotel staff could not respond to my requests. had to call 3rd party vendor. didn't know about service fee when booking room ($20 per night i believe). couldn't obtain upgrade. Room had no soap/shampoo when i got there, had to wait until next day. Only 2 hangers in room. Overall a "cheaper" experience than I would have liked, but suppose it was ok.
the fact that it was a privately owned unit, which meant no service whatsoever. We did not know this when booking. The hotel staff were rude and unhelpful because of this. I will never stay here again.
It was inexpensive
The fact that the room had a private owner and we could not get any service from the hotel. And also because of this, the staff was rude.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The room was not well stocked.
There were no amenities. There was only one towel and no wash cloths. Also, only two hangers were provided. Was told that since this was independently owned, the hotel could not provide any amenities for the room.
The Ala Moana hotel was chosen because I had stayed in the hotel some years ago and it was close to the huge Ala Moana Centre.
The Ala Moana hotel was broken up and some rooms sold as condominiums since I last stayed there. When booking through lsi I was unaware that we would be placed in an owners condo which was not serviced by the hotel. The experience was not one of being treated as a hotel guest but a second class citizen.
Free wi-fi, location to shopping areas and food.
I think that online check-in and printing of boarding pass should not cost the patron anything.
We have stayed several times at this hotel. I would never recomend this private room rentals from lsi
Upon check in I was informed by the front dest that the rooms rented to us were privatley owned. We recived no support from the hotel staff. We were charged extra for towles and when we reported a broken tolit seat it went unrepaired. We were provided a seperate contact number and after being put on hold for a long time our concerns went unanswered. Later the contac number stop taking our calls. I will never recomend this type of private room rental from lsi
